DNA Witnessing (TM), is a DNA typing service used to verify parental gamete donation as authentic.
During IVF most steps in the process are witnessed by embryologists, nurses and doctors so the chance of an error. However, sperm collection is one of the few steps were there is no witness and there have been instances in which the sperm sample handled to the IVF center was not of who portended to be obtained. DNA Witnessing (™) allows fast verification that the sperm sample produced during IVF is in fact from the same individual that produced it by comparing sperm and cheek swabs. Results are provided before day 3 of embryo development, so if there are any discrepancies, the embryo transference can be stop and embryos frozen until the situation is clarified.
